We officially joined the "spring break" travelers.
Since children fly free, as a lap child, until they are two, we thought we get get one more freebie. Thank you Southwest Airlines.
Declan is 23 months, we just made it.
So off to warm, sunny, dry heat, BEAUTIFUL Phoenix, AZ
We were met at the baggage claim by my beautiful sister and brother in law ready to help lug bags and kiddos. The boys were beyond excited to see them, as so were Aaron and I. It is hard living so far away but visits like these make it so special.
Started off with a nice walk to the park. The boys played so hard. After being cooped up all winter it was hard getting them inside.
Sunday I was able to get in a long training run before church. I was heading back and thought I knew where I was going until all the streets looked the same. I knew I was close but couldn't figure it out and didn't want to make everyone late for church. I had to call Kim to the rescue, which allowed me to make it 10 miles!!
I was even able to catch some hot-air balloons.
Speaking of church, Harvest Bible Church is always a great visit. They welcomed us with open arms, our boys went in to their Sunday school rooms and felt very comfortable. I'm so glad we are getting our boys out of their usual routine and teaching them to travel and adjust where ever we go. The BEST part yet, we were able to meet our future niece in law, which we will welcome to the family officially Aug 1, 2014.
Enjoyed Chompie's after church. YUM! If you are wondering, that is Dewey's minion dessert. It lasted him two days because that minion is pure frosting. He would have been bouncing off those walls. Great food and desserts!!
The big guys enjoyed three rounds of golf and us girls and little guys enjoyed sun and the pool.
(Yes, we wore our sunscreen, hats and sunglasses).
Mom and Dad chose to do some one-on-one time with the boys.
Aaron and Dewey went to see
"Peabody and Sherman" and do lunch...and
Declan and I went for a walk to the park and played with the sidewalk chalk.
Finished the night with some cuddles, never can have too many of these nights. Soon the boys won't want to or they will think it is uncool to hang with mom and dad.
Dewey was top egg winner in the Mother Goose game.
Always willing to help in the kitchen. helping make meat balls to go with our spaghetti, salad and garlic bread.
One thing about Kim, always has a dinner plan and a healthy pantry awaiting us.
Got a another good run in!!
(Total for the week was 20 miles) I got in another 4 miles in there also.
More pool time! Dewey's goal this trip was to learn to swim under water and he did just that. He is doing great, so good he will be doing cannon balls off the boat this year, I'm sure!
We are always blessed with a date night.
Cheesecake Factory for dinner
A beautiful drive to Cave Creek
To the Buffalo Chip for a drink and rodeo
All the while the boys are playing and helping around house.
Late night hot tub and star gazing
Patiently waiting to head to lunch and run some errands.
And.... it was sure worth the wait
Everyone know by now I have a pretty handy husband. We usually have Kim make a
"Aaron-to-do list"
Hung some art work
Put up storage unit, and some other miscellaneous things.
Topped the week off with a Diamondbacks/Dodgers game full of fun, food, and fireworks.
While us ladies, after Declan went off to bed, colored hair, laughed, talked, snacked and surfed looking for special occasion hair do's.
We are so blessed with the family God has put in our lives. It was an amazing spring break and always a blast with the Lindsey's in PHX.
Tears were shed as we were entering security, happy and sad. Like My sister in law says..."it seems like a long week, but never long enough".
Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer as we marry off our first, of many nephews.
Back to life, back to reality! :)
Great memories were made this week!
