It was a short work week for us last week. I worked one day and Aaron worked three, then we packed up and headed for Kanas City. We had four days of pure laughter, happy tears, sad tears and lots of catching up with family.
Are we there yet mom?
I can't complain, the boys did very well traveling 10 hours out and 12 hours back. They couldn't complain either, all kinds of snacks, Capri Suns, and all sorts of movies to pass the time.
We usually travel I-70 but this time we went north and hit 80/90 through Illinois and Iowa them south to KS.
We sometime watch the American Pickers on TV, so it was cool to stop and check out the place.
Dewey is showing you his butterfly hands.
Then back on the road.
Thursday we met up with our family, grabbed lunch and grabbed those last minute things we needed for the big day!
The "big day" is for our nephew has found "the one" and said "I do"
Thursday continued with checking in at The Elms Hotel,
walking around the grounds and checking out the place, welcoming and meeting all the bride and grooms friends and extended family. Had to have some BBQ, you can't go to KS and not have BBQ!
Then off to rehearsal. The wedding was going to take place at the hotel, rehearsal went well and we headed to Van Till Winery, right up my alley.
It was beautifully decorated, very well organized and well put together.
Cameron & Clairen
My little man is not so little anymore!
Cameron LOVES coffee, a little party favor. It smelled AMAZING!
My Sweets!
We were served salad, breadsticks as appetizers and then came brick oven pizza! Three different kinds, beer and wine, it was delicious!
The boys reunited with their cousin Abigail and met three other kiddos there and really hit it off they all really enjoyed themselves and behaved ever so well.
Aaron and Jacob (nephew) not so little either!
Great evening!!
It's wedding day!!!
We had lunch at one of favorite places, a Strouds, they are famous for thier chicken. It was sooo good. At the end of your meal they bring baskets of thier warm cinnamon rolls that melt in your mouth.
The kids fed the geese and climbed/played in the tree outside.
Once back the hotel, the boys had some quite time, then headed the pool, and I headed to beautify the MOG, aka Kim my amazing sister in law. Makeup, lots of hairspray a few bobbi pins and she was ready to go.
Cameron was Aaron's best man in our wedding eleven years ago. Now it is his time to start a new chapter in his life. I cried many tears this day. It's just hard to believe how fast these kids are growing up and we are so proud of each and every one of them.
I love how Cameron is looking at his bride.
While waiting on the bridal party to finish up pictures, we were able to get a few family shots.
Now for food, cake, and dancing....
Toasting with his sparkling grape
I could barely hold it together, we in fact I wasn't able to. The look her father had in his face showed how much he loved his little girl.
Then it was time to break out in dance and my boys and Miss A tore up the dance floor.
This was precious, he went to ask Miss A to dance and grabbed her hand, looked back at us and did a double wink. Aaron and I both teared up and can't believe how fast time is going.
I'm so proud of these boys, they are a true blessing!
What a fabulous weekend.
