TMNT Birthday

Here a little history leading up to one of the busiest months of the year for the Lindsey family.

When we decided it was time to start a family my husband thought it would be cool to have a  another Taurus in the family since he is one too. So when we got pregnant in late August 2008 that put our due date May 15. Perfect! Dewey arrived May 19 and shares his birthday with his Grandma Shirley and Great Aunt Linda. Aaron's birthday is May 20. So, when we decided on #2, all I was wanted was not to be pregnant in the summer, so here again we tried in the late summer and got pregnant the exact same day/weekend August 2011. So here again due date was May 22 and little Declan arrived May 17th.

So let me recap....
Declan May17th....Dewey/G'ma and Gr. Aunt Linda(twins)
May 19th and
Aaron May 20th.
With the boys birthday's being so close we just throw one big family party. This year the boys (Dewey) chose TMNT.
The Teenage Mutant Turtles are making a huge comeback, so that is the theme for this years party.
Dewey 5   Declan 2
Declan helped Dad mow the yard in prep for the party.

I don't consider my self a crafty/pinterest mom. I really wish I was.
So to be practical and be able to reuse what doesn't get used, I chose to go with the color of each turtle. To give you a little info...
Michelangelo = orange
Raphael = Red
Leonardo = Blue
Donatello = Purple

Dewey, Declan and cousins Addy and Ava

(I know it's a bit blurry but Declan wasn't looking up in the other ones).

At this point the we have made this a family/close friend affair. The boys haven't really had a lot of friends yet, but that is about to change. Dewey has gotten to know a lot of kids at church and with two years of preschool he now has a group of buddies. This year he was able to invite one friend and his buddy Wyatt got that invite.

Our friends have little ones too, so its nice to see all the kids play and get to know each other as they grow up.

Dad was able to find a Leonardo PiƱata at the last minute which the kids enjoyed.

We want to thank all our friends and family for coming and celebrating these two precious gems. You boys are our life and we love you so very much.
What a great day!
Race recap posting tomorrow. Don't miss it!
